Aqua Climbing Wall Installed at Super Splash Park for 2026 Season
The Carbondale Park District is excited to announce that community fundraising efforts for a new Aqua Climbing Wall at Super Splash Park have officially reached their goal. Thanks to the generosity of local residents, volunteers, and the Carbondale Park District, the new attraction has been installed and will debut during the 2026 season, coinciding with the park’s 10th anniversary.
The Aqua Climbing Wall is located at the deep end of the competition pool, which was originally designed to accommodate this type of feature. Swimmers will be able to climb a 16-foot vertical surface before safely dropping back into the water, all within a supervised aquatic environment.
“This project truly reflects the power of community support,” said Trey Anderson, Executive Director of the Carbondale Park District. “Reaching our fundraising goal means we can introduce an exciting new feature while celebrating ten incredible seasons of providing safe, accessible aquatic recreation to Carbondale families.”
The Super Splash Park will open for the 2026 season on May 23, 2026, with additional programming and anniversary celebrations to be announced.
