The Carbondale Park District LOVES its volunteers. Volunteers are critical to any organization and our District is no different. Volunteers help with a myriad of projects from park clean up, flower planting, program leading, and much more.

For more than 80 years, the Carbondale Park District has been committed to creating and maintaining quality parks, facilities, and recreational opportunities for our community. Today, we serve more than 20,000 residents — providing access to green space, enriching programs, and safe, welcoming places where people of all ages can play, connect, and grow.

Your donation helps us continue and expand these essential services. Whether it’s maintaining playgrounds, supporting youth and adult recreational programs, enhancing park spaces, or preserving natural areas, every gift — large or small — makes a difference.

For more information, please contact the Lakeland Center at 618-549-4222 or by email.

The Carbondale Park District has four advisory committees in addition to the Board of Commissioners that help guide the District staff. The committees are as follows: Childcare Advisory Committee, Golf Advisory Committee, Administration and Finance Advisory Committee, and Grounds, Facilities and Recreation Advisory Committee. Each committee meets for one-hour, monthly to discuss District happenings and to receive guidance/support from the community members serving on the committees. If you are interested in joining a committee, please call the Hickory Lodge Administrative Building at 618-529-4147.
